Tucked away amongst the bushland at Ben’s Falls Retreat, Kingfisher Cabin is your own private off-grid haven. A place for two to slow down, switch off and enjoy being somewhere that feels completely removed from everyday life.

Wake to the sounds of birds and the bush coming to life around you. Make a coffee and take it out onto the deck, wander down to the water, or simply stay exactly where you are with nowhere you need to be.

Kingfisher is cosy, private and made for couples. Spend the afternoon exploring the property, throw a line in the dam, take the kayaks down to the river or curl up with a book and enjoy the quiet.

Then, as the sun disappears behind the hills, light the fire, pour a glass of wine and sink into your private outdoor bath under the stars.

This is the kind of place where you can lose track of time.

Step Outside

The best part of Kingfisher might just be what surrounds it.

Your cabin overlooks its own private stocked dam, with the river, waterfalls and acres of bushland waiting to be explored.

Keep an eye out for wallabies and kangaroos moving through the bush, deer wandering the property and the kingfishers that gave the cabin its name. If you're particularly lucky, you may even spot a platypus along the river.

There’s no Wi-Fi and very little to interrupt you here. That’s exactly the point.

A Note About Fishing

We love being able to share our river with guests and ask that everyone helps us protect it.

River fishing is sports fishing only and strictly catch and release. Lure fishing with rod and line only. No bait fishing, droppers, set lines or hand lines are permitted, and no fish caught in the river may be kept or removed from the property.

From 1 September to 30 November, the river is completely closed to fishing for the Murray Cod breeding season. No fishing of any kind is permitted in the river during this period. Kingfisher guests can still enjoy fishing in the private stocked dam.

Please leave the river and property exactly as you found them and take all rubbish, fishing line and hooks with you.

These conditions are important to us and are part of staying at Ben’s Falls Retreat. Guests who do not follow our fishing or property rules may have their stay ended and be asked to leave the property.

We simply ask that you love and respect our little piece of the world while you're here, so we can continue sharing it for years to come.
